It’s all happening on the Green; look at the improvements we have made

Site meeting of Jan Young (press expert), Kate Goulden and Ann Armstrong (part of the Project group), Martin Fine (Facilitator from the Community Spaces, Groundwork UK agency) and Peter Leaver (external Project Manager)

During this meeting, the seats arrived from Dean Forge and clearing of the disabled  parking was well under way.

John Hayman dug holes for the bases on which some of the seats would be installed.

Back at the seat site, the dug holes were filled with concrete and the tarmac covered them over to make a tidy finish, then the seats were bolted through the tarmac into the concrete.

These are just some of the wildlife who inhabit the Green – a family of brown ducks.

The parking area and the pathways had been cleaned up by Phil Small’s son John, Dave, Bob and Bill Grigg.  Here they are in action.

The ducks of every type enjoy the new paths and grass.

The picnic tables weigh 190 kilograms each.  The tables will be spread out under the trees in the Orchard; this is not their final position.

The river is the location for the Duck Race run on Fun Day, the last Sunday in June.

It is not only the ducks who enjoy the new paths; the “humans” take every opportunity to relax on the Green.
